From Zero Budget to a Working Production Team: The Serafim Praise Story

When HKBP's youth media mission, Serafim Praise, was approved as an outreach program but allocated no budget, PUNDI stepped in as its largest single sponsor — contributing 22% of the program's total funding, which was raised entirely from donors, sponsors, and CSR partners. Alongside its long-standing safe-water operating partner, the two together accounted for approximately 41% of everything the program raised — a working example of how PUNDI's partner ecosystem moves across program pillars, not just within them. Built by 25+ young people and young adults, many of them alumni of the 2022 EE4G Youth Camp, Serafim Praise turned a youth group into a functioning digital production team: contemporary arrangements of traditional hymns, filmed testimonial content, and studio sessions across Jakarta and Bekasi. Participants gained genuinely transferable skills — music arrangement, audio-visual production, video editing, and social media management — the kind of creative-economy capabilities that open doors well beyond HKBP walls.
Three years on, the results speak for themselves. By the end of 2025, Serafim Praise had reached 1,610 Instagram followers, 1,113 on TikTok, and 1,061 YouTube subscribers, with a single month's TikTok reach hitting 9,499 views — an eightfold jump — and half its audience aged 34 or under. On 6 June 2024, funding pooled from PUNDI and fellow donors also enabled the procurement of three units of music equipment, formally handed over to HKBP

to strengthen its musical team — a durable asset left behind by a program that started with nothing. For PUNDI, this is what our Community Resiliency pillar looks like in practice: not a one-off donation, but sustained backing for a youth-led initiative that builds real skills, reaches real audiences, and leaves something permanent in the community — part of the 270+ young people equipped through our youth empowerment partnerships since 2021.
